Mindful Milestones Mobility in Varna, Bulgaria!

A first step into gratitude, reflection, and personal growth

The Mindful Milestones journey has officially begun!

From 1–5 December 2025, young people, youth workers, and partner organisations came together in Varna, Bulgaria for the project’s first international activity. More than just a meeting, the mobility became a space for connection, reflection, learning, and discovering what personal growth can look like when we take time to pause and look inward.

Mindful Milestones is all about supporting young people in building self-awareness, emotional resilience, gratitude, and goal-setting skills. In Varna, participants had the chance to explore these topics not only through discussions, but also through interactive workshops, energisers, cultural evenings, and deep reflection sessions.

Learning by doing, sharing, and reflecting

The first day focused on getting to know each other and opening the conversation around self-awareness. Participants explored how understanding ourselves better can help us make clearer decisions, recognise our strengths, and feel more confident about the future.

The programme then moved into gratitude with the workshop “Building a Mindful You”. Through activities and reflection, participants looked at how gratitude can help us notice the positive things around us, even during stressful or uncertain times.

On the second day, the focus shifted to emotional resilience, stress, external pressures, and mindfulness. These are topics many young people face in everyday life, especially when dealing with expectations, transitions, studies, work, relationships, or uncertainty about what comes next.

The final working day explored goal-setting and how to create achievable personal and professional goals. Participants reflected on what they want to build in their lives and how small, realistic steps can lead to meaningful change.

A project built with young people, not only for young people

One of the most important parts of Mindful Milestones is that young people are not just participants. They are active contributors.

The ideas, reflections, and feedback gathered in Varna will support the development of the project’s future tools, including the educational programme and the self-reflection card game. These resources will help other young people explore their own goals, strengths, emotions, relationships, and personal milestones.

Culture, connection, and community

The programme also included cultural evenings from Slovakia, Italy, and Bulgaria, giving participants the chance to share traditions, stories, and experiences from their countries.

These moments reminded everyone that personal growth is not something we do alone. It happens through conversation, support, shared experiences, and the feeling that someone is walking beside us.

What comes next?

After the mobility in Varna, the Mindful Milestones partnership will continue developing the project’s educational materials, reflection-based activities, and card game for young people and youth workers.

This was only the beginning, but it already showed the heart of the project: creating safe, creative, and meaningful spaces where young people can reflect, grow, and take their next steps with confidence.
